Aryan Khan spends his time reading books about Ram and Sita in Arthur Road prison: Sources

Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently in Mumbai Central Prison on a drug case, spends his time in prison reading a religious book and other fiction. Prison officials say he is being held behind bars like other inmates, in accordance with the prison manual.

Sources from the prison service said that Aryan read “Golden Lion” and also read “a book related to Ram and Sita”. “Aryan asked the prison officers for books. As a result, the authorities helped him borrow a book from the prison library, which was a religious library. The prison library has hundreds of books purchased by the prison authorities as well as those brought by inmates and left in the library after their release, ”the sources said.

Authorities say that sometimes detainees are also allowed to obtain books from relatives. “In such cases, we only allow books related to religious matters,” the officer added, on condition of anonymity.

Prison sources said that Aryan, who was first detained on October 8, had previously been held in the quarantine barracks, i.e. on the first floor of prison circle number 1. . Once the quarantine period ended, he was transferred to a general barracks, with the required security measures being observed.

Like the other inmates, Aryan wakes up early, at 6 a.m. every day, as the prison manual states. “According to the daily schedule, he takes tea between 7 am and 7:15 am. Breakfast is then around 8 a.m. Lunch is scheduled for 11:30 am. From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. the detainees are locked in the barracks. At 5.30 p.m., dinner is served and the barracks are closed. Even when dinner is served early, inmates eat it between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., ”the officer added.

Sources claimed that Aryan spent his afternoons and evenings reading books. “There is also a television in the barracks for all inmates. Usually they watch the news and the Olympics or cricket matches and movies on the weekends. Inmates also play volleyball and football on weekends. But for security reasons, Aryan is not allowed to mix with inmates in general, ”the sources added.

Additionally, for the past 15 days, Aryan has been allowed to speak with his parents by video call, in accordance with court orders. On Thursday, Shah Rukh Khan met him in the “Mulaqat” room, speaking to him through an intercom, as they were separated by a glass wall.
